Costing

Costing is dependent upon the number of staff members from each Council that will be completing the course.

How many staff can undertake the training at any one time?

There is no limit. Staff require access to a laptop or desktop to complete the course. It is not designed to work on smaller devices.

Is my system compliant with interoperability standards for eLearning content?

Yes – SCORM. We use a Moodle LMS.

  • It integrates with Active Directory, facilitating single sign-on.
  • It integrates with MS Exchange for email.
  • It integrates with MS-Excel for reports and enquiries.
Standard with LMS (Learning Management System)?

Yes.

How is Council notified that I have completed the course?

The Council’s System Administrator will have access to which staff members have completed the course; who is partly progressed; and who is yet to commence the training, among other information.

Where is any personal information stored?

sinconline will not hold any personal information. Council will provide your name and your Council email address to sinconline to facilitate the distribution of the program.

How long does the licence last?

Each Council is given an agreed number of licences to facilitate the training program for their staff. These licences are provided for a set period of time, for example two (2) months. The length of time of the licence will be detailed in the quote.

Can I download a copy of the program?

No. The program is intellectual property owned by sinconline and downloading; copying; or distributing the program in any way without the consent of sinconline is prohibited and legal action may be taken. You will complete the program through the sinconline LMS and will be provided with an email link to enable this access.

What if I have a technical issue?

Contact your Council’s Information Technology (IT) Helpdesk.

Do I have to answer all quiz questions correctly before I complete the course?

Yes.

What happens if I get the quiz questions wrong?

You will be asked to resubmit a different answer.

Is the training current for Local Government?

As sinconline will hold the program on its server, and it is not available for download. Any major changes made to the Model Code of Conduct by the Office of Local Government will be made to the sinconline eLearning program. The program will be current for the training undertaken by Council staff.

How are new users added?

User information is usually taken from a pre-programmed system at Council and downloaded by Council’s System Administrator into our LMS once access has been given by the sinconline Administrator.

How is completion tracked and reported?

The course and module progression is logged and readily accessible. From a user perspective, if you exit a module mid-way, you have the option to continue from the last point or restart from the beginning when you log back in.

From the Council’s System Administrator perspective, the system can provide the following reports:

  • Learning and development programs, courses, and classes.
  • Course attendance list (pending prior to the course or actual after the course).
  • Non-attendances, by reason code.
  • Number of training hours per full-time-equivalent (FTE) by date range.

There is an option to set time deadlines for courses and reminder messages to prompt users to complete the course. These can be configured to suit organisational culture and needs.

Is it possible to have the report formatted to align with the Tech 1 upload template?

In principle yes, but this may involve a one-off implementation cost.

Who owns the learner data?

Your Council owns the learner data and the Council System Administrator can access various reports from the system using the dashboard.

How do we track the number of enrolments?

This information is visible via the dashboard and alert reports can be configured and discussed with Council.

Who will provide technical support/troubleshooting assistance as required?

LMS vendor and Council will be provided with this information.
